With a combined experience of over 65 years, Dr. Slawek and Dr. Lepore have had the privilege of caring for generations of patients and watching orthodontics continually evolve. Over the decades, we’ve seen trends come and go — expansion, extraction, non-extraction philosophies, surgical orthodontics, and countless new technologies and techniques.
Through it all, one thing has remained constant: our commitment to thoughtful, individualized care.
We believe orthodontics is both a science and an art. In many ways, it feels like art class for us every day — designing healthy, beautiful smiles while building relationships with patients we genuinely enjoy seeing.
We often say that our wonderful patients send us their wonderful friends and families, and that is a huge part of what makes our office such a positive place to be each day.
While experience is invaluable, we also believe learning never stops. Dr. Slawek and Dr. Lepore are constantly evaluating the latest innovations, technologies, and treatment philosophies with a critical and educated eye to ensure we remain at the forefront of our field while always doing what is best for our patients.

Dr. Stephen Slawek
We all call him “Dr. Steve”! Dr. Steve has been practicing orthodontics in the Philadelphia area for more than 20 years. He comes from a family of dentists and loves living and working where he grew up. In fact, many of the people who come to Slawek Orthodontics are more than patients: they’re friends, neighbors, and Dr. Steve’s former classmates!
A Background in Excellence
Dr. Steve was intent on pursuing an education that would ensure his patients are confident in his abilities. He’s a graduate of Temple University School of Dentistry, where he received his Doctorate of Dental Medicine (DMD). Dr. Steve remained at Temple for his Orthodontic Residency. He graduated Magna Cum Laude.
Committed to delivering the best care and treatment options for his patients, Dr. Steve spends a great deal of time honing his skills and staying current on developments. He participates in numerous continuing orthodontic education programs and seminars. Dr. Steve is proud to be an “Elite” preferred provider for Invisalign® clear aligners, a distinction that places him in the top 1% of doctors throughout the U.S. in Invisalign treatment experience!

Outside the Office
Dr. Steve, his wife, and four children make the most of their time together. He’s also an artist, woodworker – he built many of the features in our office! – and an exercise enthusiast. For Dr. Steve, time spent outdoors on his four-wheeler is time well spent!

Being a parent myself, I know the value in creating beautiful smiles while building self-esteem and developing increased confidence for each person in my care.

Education
I am a graduate of the Harvard School of Dental Medicine. After completing my Doctorate of Dental Medicine (DMD), I spent two years training for my orthodontic specialty at Boston University’s School of Graduate Dentistry.
Orthodontics is a constantly evolving specialty. In order to remain current on developments, I’m continually updating my knowledge and skills through training with Align Technology and active participation with numerous professional organizations.
